The Carriage House

Tucked away on a peaceful farm, this charming Carriage House has a story woven into every beam and brick. The building began life in the early 1960s as a humble farm outbuilding before serving time as a workshop. In 2018, it started a new chapter, as it was carefully rebuilt and reimagined into the cozy retreat you’ll find today.

When construction wrapped up in early 2019, the very first residents were a newly married Clemson architecture student and his wife. They helped shape the final details, adding a creative touch that still gives the space its personality.

Every piece inside the Carriage House has its own bit of history. The spiral staircase, for example, was rescued from a rusting heap in a local company’s parking lot, restored by hand, and carried into place by a few former Clemson football players. The exposed beams overhead are all original, complete with the rough-sawn marks from an old mill in Pickens, South Carolina.

Today, the homeowners (lifelong Clemson fans) love sharing this space with guests looking to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy all the charm this area has to offer. Whether you’re here for game day, a quiet weekend, or just to soak up the Upstate’s beauty, the Carriage House is the perfect place to make yourself at home.
