Clemson Carriage House Staircase

Our Mission

This new construction was designed to offer comfort and privacy in this wooded setting close to Clemson University and the neighboring lakes and mountain region.

Our Story

This farm outbuilding was originally built in the early 1960s and later became a workshop.
In July of 2018 new construction began on the Carriage House and it was completed in January 2019.
A graduate student in Architecture from Clemson University and his new wife were the first tenants and provided creative design and helpful feedback for the final remaining adjustments.
The items within the Carriage House have a story all of their own. The spiral staircase for instance was found outside rusting and in need of repair at a staircase company’s parking lot prior to sandblasting and powder coating. The Spiral staircase was actually moved by hand by some former Clemson football players.
The beams are all original and actually still have rough saw edges left from the Old Sawmill in Pickens, SC.
The homeowners are Clemson fans who love assisting others in spending time relaxing with friends and family while enjoying all that this area has to offer.
